Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") applies to every workload running on ZevCloud — apps, databases, WordPress sites, static uploads, and registered domains. Use the platform fairly and within the law and you'll never hear from us about it.

1. Things you must not do

Illegal activity

  • Host, distribute, or facilitate access to content that's illegal under Nigerian law or the laws of the user's country.
  • Use ZevCloud to commit fraud, money laundering, or sanctions evasion.
  • Distribute child sexual abuse material — we report violations to law enforcement immediately and without notice.

Abuse of the platform

  • Mining cryptocurrency on shared compute resources.
  • Running unsolicited bulk email, SMS, or messaging campaigns ("spam"). Marketing email to opted-in subscribers is fine.
  • Crawling, scraping, or proxying that violates a third party's terms.
  • DDoS, port scanning, or other network attacks against any system.
  • Probing or testing the security of ZevCloud itself outside our coordinated disclosure programme.

Resource fairness

  • Workloads on shared plans must stay within their tier's documented quotas. Sustained over-quota use can result in throttling or migration to a paid tier.
  • Free-tier accounts that exist solely to abuse promotional credits can be terminated without refund.

Content categories we restrict

We don't host the following on shared infrastructure (dedicated arrangements may be possible — talk to us first):

  • Adult content and adjacent industries.
  • Online gambling sites without the appropriate Nigerian licence.
  • Cryptocurrency exchanges, custodial wallets, and ICO sales pages.
  • Firearms or weapons sales.
  • "Bullet-proof" hosting brokerage.

2. Domain registrations

Domain registrations are subject to ICANN policy, the relevant registry's policies (e.g. NiRA for `.ng`), and our AUP. Domains used predominantly for the activities listed above can be locked or transferred away from ZevCloud at our discretion, with notice where practical. Per ICANN policy, we will always issue an EPP auth code on request — we never block legitimate transfers.

3. Email forwarding

Email forwarding through ZevCloud Domains exists to redirect legitimate inbound mail. It must not be used for spam, phishing, or as part of an open-relay chain.

4. Reporting violations

Email abuse@zevcloud.net with:

  • The domain or service URL involved.
  • A description of the violation and timestamps.
  • Evidence (screenshots, log excerpts, links).

We acknowledge reports within 24 hours and act on confirmed violations within a further 24-48 hours.

5. Enforcement

Depending on severity, we may: warn the account owner, restrict specific functionality, suspend the offending service, or terminate the account. We try to give notice and a remediation window unless the violation is so severe (e.g. CSAM, active attack) that immediate action is required.

6. Updates

We update this AUP from time to time. The current version always lives at /legal/aup. Material changes are emailed to account owners.
